All units were back in service by 0930.

2/6/2008: Residential structure fire: The Davis Fire Department was dispatched at 2255 for a reported structure fire at 6875 North Eggert Road. Rock City was first on scene, established a water supply and made the initial attack on visible flames in the lower level of the residence, extinguishing all visible flames at that level. Davis crews made attack on the main floor of the residence. Even though all visible flame was extinguished, smoke was still issuing from the roof vents, indicating possible fire in the attic. An additional call for mutual aid was made, summoning the Durand and Pecatonica fire departments. Crews on scene then began the process of opening up the walls on the interior and exterior of the home, and the roof and ceiling of the home to find the seat of the remaining fire. Significant fire damage had transferred to the attic, and was extinguished quickly. All crews were released and back in service by 0243 on 2/7/2008.

Significant snow in the area could have hampered response to this residence, had it not been for the quick work of Bob Klever and Rock Run Township. Mr. Klever was able to get to the residence before any fire apparatus and plow the entire driveway; Rock Run Township made several passes on Eggert Road to open it up for the apparatus traffic.
